Black Veil Tattoo
A loud, editorial website for a Berlin tattoo studio — built to feel like the studio, not like a template.

Black Veil is a tattoo studio concept set in Berlin. Tattoo clients don’t browse — they look for a style that feels like theirs. The site needed attitude from the first pixel and a portfolio that does the selling.

The challenge
Most studio websites look interchangeable: a dark template, a gallery, a phone number. The opportunity was to give the studio a voice — heavy condensed type, hand-drawn red marks and full-bleed photography — while keeping the path to booking a session short and obvious.

The approach
The design is built on contrast: near-black backgrounds, off-white display type set huge and tight, and a single blood-red accent used for scribbled annotations and the booking button. Images are cropped into words and type overlaps photos, so the page reads like a printed zine.
The structure follows how people actually choose a tattoo artist: the statement, a dense portfolio grid, the studio space, a four-step process from consultation to aftercare, and one clear call to book a session.
In Webflow the typography scales fluidly, and tablet and mobile get their own compositions so the big type never breaks.

The outcome
A distinctive, fully responsive studio site live on Webflow. It shows how far a brand can be pushed visually while the booking journey stays simple.
