How to get your website recommended by ChatGPT
A free 10-point checklist for SaaS and real estate teams. Updated October 2026.
AI assistants like ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude and Google’s AI Overviews now answer questions such as “who builds Webflow websites for real estate?”. They recommend companies they can clearly understand and verify. This checklist shows what they look for and how to give it to them.
1. Why it matters
More buyers now start their research by asking an AI assistant instead of scrolling through search results. If an assistant can’t tell what you do, for whom and where, it simply leaves you out of the answer — even if your website looks great.
2. How AI assistants choose who to mention
- They read your website, especially headings, the first sentence of each section and your FAQ.
- They look for structured data (schema) that states facts like your name, services and location.
- They cross-check you on other sites: directories, reviews, social profiles and articles that mention you.
- They prefer pages that answer a question directly, in plain language, near the top.
3. The 10-point checklist
- One clear sentence on your homepage that says who you are, what you do, for whom and where.
- A separate page for each service, with its own title, description and FAQ.
- Answer-first copy: the first sentence of every section answers the question in its heading.
- An FAQ written in the words your customers actually use, marked up with FAQ schema.
- Organization or ProfessionalService schema with your name, contact details, services and the area you serve.
- The same name, description and contact details everywhere: website, Google Business Profile, LinkedIn and directories.
- Reviews and mentions on other sites that describe what you do in the same words.
- Fast, crawlable pages: real text in the HTML, with no key content hidden in images or scripts.
- A sitemap submitted to Google Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools, so search and AI crawlers find every page.
- Proof you can point to: case studies, named projects and a real person behind the business.
4. How this website applies it
This site follows the same checklist: a one-sentence description on the homepage, a page for each service, answer-first FAQs, ProfessionalService and FAQ schema, and a sitemap in Google Search Console. It’s the same setup I build for clients.
